It’s always good to receive affirmation on the value of the retreat, so here's
a quick summary:
Our retreat guests VALUE the LOCATION of the retreat, as the YMCA authors a
true RESPITE.
A respite is a short break from something difficult. The grief and its impact
on the marriage relationship is indeed difficult.
There was validation from our guests that the shift of environment, away from
their daily grief environment, lends itself to entering the grief, processing
its impact both individually and on the marriage relationship, and to explore
the truth and strength our Living Hope authors in our grief. They verbalized
that the environment felt SAFE.
Perhaps there hasn’t been a couple that enjoyed the respite location
more....enjoy the attached photos!
Rich prayed that our guests (specifically the husband) would see wildlife
because he is a hunter and avid outdoorsman. He knew Rich was praying
specifically for this blessing and the Lord overflowed them with His answer.!
Just after check-in on their drive to their cabin, a large bull elk emerged
from the trees and walked right in front of their rental car almost coming face
to face with them as they sat in their car.
That was only the start! They had their own personal bugling performance right
outside their cabin one morning and gained understanding as to the details of
the rut season.... enough said.
As if that weren’t
enough, they also saw an adult bear and a bull moose, and many mule deer!
In summary: The location creates and environment that is safe and truly a
respite.
Each couple God uniquely meets during the respite. We give thanks for His power
to Author life-giving hope, through His Son, our Living Hope.
